Want a sneak preview? We’ve rounded up some of our must-have collection pieces launching this September. Denim jackets, oversized sweats, joggers and jersey t-shirts are set to be key investments for the season ahead. We caught up with Penelope Armstrong and Romy Townend, lead designers on Mennace, to shed light on their collection picks and why these pieces are set to influence.
The jersey essentials
Top pick: ‘The oversized checkerboard football tee and the core drop shoulder tee for an update on the classic shape’ – Penelope
Hand-picked as all-time favourites, jersey t-shirts have a way of welcoming an off-duty attitude or to spruce up and look sharp. Ideal for layering under oversized sweatshirts or for standing alone, Penelope Armstrong highlights that the t-shirts in Mennace all have their own personality. ‘There’s a real focus on shape and fit which helps give them a Mennace twist. T- shirts across the trends all have different fits and fabrications which mean there’s something for everyone.’
Top pick: ‘The light wash denim Western. The distressing and abrasions replicate a well-worn vintage piece that is essential for any wardrobe’ – Romy
A necessity. Start looking now whilst we’re in-between seasons. Sign up to these double-duty jackets to see you through summer and autumn. Look out for denim jackets and trucker alternatives for solid options.
Romy Townend, lead designer on outerwear, announces that Western is going to be one of the core items for Mennace this season, ‘We’re innovating the style with new fabrications such as, cord, faux leathers and suedes, whilst ensuring the classic denim Western has been incorporated.’
Top picks: ‘The cropped tricot track pants in purple and the premium grey marl zip side joggers’ – Penelope
It’s easy to fall into a rut when wearing your go-to trousers day in, day out. Switch up your off-duty kit and give your jeans a break in these stylish joggers. Mennace has focused on updating the classic jogger into heavy weight fabrics and premium grey marls, as well as updating shapes in tricot fabric and cropped leg lengths to make them extra versatile in terms of styling. There’s more than enough style in these throw-on-and-go pieces, ‘Gone are the days when your joggers aren’t the part of your outfit making the statement.’ Try a slim, tapered fit with no bunching around the ankle.
Hoodies and sweatshirts
Top pick: ‘The checkerboard hoodie and the 3/4 sleeve hoodie in grey marl for layering’ – Penelope
Slip-on pullovers finished with emblazoned check, slogans and logos are smart for the new season. This is proof that hoodies aren’t just for lounging. ‘We’ve put a lot of effort into ensuring that our fabrics on sweats are of the highest quality.’ The heavy weight fabric helps to ensure that the styles fit in a relaxed way. The trims have also been given a Mennace edge, including two way zips and wax-coated, extra-long draw cords. Penelope has confidence in the layering aspect of the collection or ‘wearing on their own in a pop colour or print and trying out a track top, if you’re feeling a more sports luxe vibe.’
